Thurrock Kitchens and Bathrooms is a bespoke kitchen designer and fitter serving Thurrock, Essex, and nearby Grays, Chafford Hundred, Tilbury, Stanford-le-Hope and South Ockendon. We design, build and install made-to-measure kitchens, including handcrafted in-frame cabinetry, painted shaker doors, kitchen islands, walk-in pantries and extension fit-outs. Bench joiners make every cabinet to measure, so your kitchen fits your room and not the other way round.
Each project starts with a laser survey of your walls, alcoves and chimney breasts. We then build MR-MDF carcasses that stand up to Thames Estuary humidity, join the frames with mortise-and-tenon joints and fit solid oak dovetail drawer boxes on Blum Legrabox runners. Doors and panels get a spray finish off site before the fitters scribe every unit to the uneven walls found in Thurrock's period cottages and post-war semis. Worktops come in Silestone quartz or Dekton, templated once the cabinets are in.
After 20 years of fitting kitchens across South Essex, we sweat the small details. Every project comes with a fixed quote, one contract covering design, manufacture, plumbing and electrics, and a single project manager from survey to handover. A 10-year guarantee on workmanship and materials backs the finished kitchen, and local knowledge of Thurrock Council requirements keeps extension and structural work moving.

Your kitchen design starts with how you cook, store and move around the room each day. Our designers draw up cabinetry, appliances, worktops and storage in detail, then put awkward alcoves and tight corners to work instead of boxing them in.

In-frame joinery, MR-MDF carcasses, solid oak and Blum Legrabox drawers go into the cabinets our bench joiners build. Each one is made for your kitchen alone, so the furniture stands up to daily use and keeps its timeless look.

Older Thurrock homes rarely have level floors or square corners. That is why we scribe and level every made-to-measure cabinet on site to follow uneven walls. Doors, drawers and worktops line up cleanly as a result, and they stay that way.

Thurrock Kitchens and Bathrooms builds custom kitchen islands with cupboards, drawers, seating or appliances worked into the design. Quartz worktops give you a hard-wearing surface for busy cooking. Before anything is built, we size the island so you move freely between the sink, hob and main worktop.

A spare corner, an old cupboard or the space under the stairs makes a good walk-in pantry once we have measured it up. The joinery follows the footprint you have, with shelving, drawers and cabinetry that keep food, cookware and small appliances organised and free up your main worktops for cooking.

Extra floor space only pays off when it works with the kitchen you already have. Cabinetry, worktops and flooring come together around features like bi-fold doors in every extension we fit out. The new room then works as one space for cooking, storage and dining.
Your project opens with a visit at your Thurrock home, where our designer asks how you cook, what you need to store and what you want to spend. A laser survey then maps every alcove, chimney breast and out-of-true wall, giving the joinery drawings their exact starting dimensions.
Thurrock Kitchens and Bathrooms presents your layout as 2D plans or 3D visuals, with door, worktop and finish samples to handle. Changes are made until the design and specification both feel right, which takes 2 to 3 weeks for most clients.
In the workshop, our bench joiners make each cabinet to your surveyed sizes, with no standard unit trimmed to fit. Doors and panels are sprayed off site for a smooth, even coat. Allow 8 to 12 weeks for manufacture.
Cabinetry and appliances go in first, which our fitters complete in 3 to 5 days for most kitchens, while the electricians and plumbers connect sockets, lighting and water around them. We template stone worktops once the cabinets are fixed and fit them 7 to 10 working days later, bringing the time on site to 2 to 3 weeks.
Before handover, we test every door, drawer and appliance and put right anything that is out of line. You sign off the kitchen only when you are happy with it, and we then confirm your 10-year guarantee on workmanship and materials in writing.

Millimetre-Exact Made-to-Measure Fit: We build your carcasses to your room’s exact dimensions, making full use of awkward alcoves and chimney breasts.
Thames Estuary Humidity Protection: We use moisture-resistant MDF and sealed hardwoods to protect your cabinets from swelling, misalignment, and paint cracking in Thurrock’s damp conditions.
True In-Frame Bench Joinery: Our joiners pair traditional mortise-and-tenon joints with Blum soft-close hardware for durable, precise everyday use.
Single-Contract Design to Installation: We manage design, manufacture, plumbing, and electrical work under one agreement, with a single project manager throughout.
The price of your Thurrock Kitchens and Bathrooms kitchen depends on the number of units, the joinery style and whether you choose lay-on or in-frame construction. Timber species and worktop material also move the figure.
